Honourable Mrs Fazila JEEWA-DAUREEAWOO, GCSK
Minister of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity
Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo was appointed Minister of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity following the general elections in November 2019.
She was candidate for the first time in an election of universal suffrage in May 2005. She was elected and served as Member of the Mauritius National Assembly from 2005 – 2010.

he stood as candidate again in the last two general elections held in December 2014, and November 2019, respectively.
Following the elections of 2014, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo was appointed Minister of Social Security, National Solidarity and Reform Institutions from December 2014 to January 2017. She was then appointed Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare from January 2017 to November 2017.
From November 2017 to November 2019 she served as Vice – Prime Minister, Minister of Local Government and Outer Islands, and Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare.
Prior to her career in politics, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo has been a Solicitor registered on the Roll of the Supreme Court of Mauritius. She has many years of experience in family matters and has appeared in all Courts of Mauritius, including the Supreme Court and the Family Division of the Supreme Court.
